Brilliant Traces

Live at the Hudson Theatre, Brilliant Traces, a story about grief and memory, captivated audiences through careful attention to narrative and design. Brought on as a projection designer, I oversaw the creative direction of full-stage video content that supported the intimate, two-character drama. The process involved compiling and editing 100+ video assets from found footage, actor-sourced material, and abstract collage, creating multimedia assets. I programmed time-based cues in QLab and provided on-site technical direction throughout the run, adjusting color grading in real-time and advising on set design / spatial layout. This project demanded fluency across multi-software workflows while maintaining the delicate balance between supporting the actors and enhancing the story's emotional landscape.
